Domiciliation in Monaco: the registered office your authorisation names
We choose the seat your legal form may use, assemble the occupancy title, and plan the move before the cap expires.
- No address, no authorisation, no RCI entry
- An occupancy title in every case
- Caps from six months to no limit
- No mailbox seat (Art. 9, 8°)
What a Monegasque registered office is, and what we do
Every business in Monaco declares its address and proves its right to occupy the premises. The authorisation and the RCI entry are "subordonnées à la communication de l'adresse de l'entreprise" (the government's seat page, 05/12/2025). A registered office in Monaco is a condition of the business authorisation, not a product.
Domiciliation in Monaco is the file behind that address: the seat option the legal form may use, the occupancy title, the DDE declaration, the cap that follows. The authorisation itself belongs to our company registration overview. We are not a business centre and not a domiciliation provider within Loi n° 1.362, Art. 1er, 29°: we supply no address.
What is included
What the work covers, and the line it does not cross.
The seat option your legal form may use. Commercial premises, the gérant's (manager's) home, a domiciliation business, one of the nine DDE formulas, or premises another business occupies.
The occupancy title the Monaco Business Office accepts. A registered lease, a fonds de commerce deed, a convention d'occupation domaniale, a notary's certificate, a centre contract, the owner's authorisation.
The premises part of the authorisation file. The decision names the premises limitatively (Loi n° 1.144, Art. 5), so the address is settled on premises you can keep.
The declaration at the DDE, and what follows. Domiciliation is the first post-authorisation formality; then the technical commission, the lease registration, the RCI.
The cap, planned before it bites. When the clock starts, which official wording covers your formula, and what the next option involves.
A change of address later. A new authorisation or declaration, amended statutes, the Journal de Monaco notice, the Greffe Général filing, the RCI within one month.
Where each legal form may put its seat
Each legal form carries its own list of lawful seats, and the cap differs by form and by formula.
| Legal form | Seat options the government pages give it | Duration published | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sole trader, profession, artisan, commercial agent | Commercial premises in principle; the operator's own home, if the operator is the leaseholder, the leaseholder's spouse or housed by them; Start Up MC, Start Up, Primo, Primo R, Hébergement administratif; Bureau exclusif from 9 sqm | At home, no restriction on the moment or the length; in a formula, six months to no limit (next table) | Home-domiciliation page, 05/12/2025; business-centre page, 05/12/2025 |
| SARL and SURL | Commercial premises in principle (commercial lease, short lease, convention d'occupation précaire); a domiciliation business; premises occupied by another business, under conditions; the gérant's home at start-up; Campus, Campus +, Bureau exclusif from 9 sqm. See Company in Monaco: The Monegasque SARL | Domiciliation business: one year, renewable once. Campus: three years, non-renewable. Campus +: no limit. Home: one year renewable once, from the gazette publication of the extract of the constitutive deed ¹ | Government SARL page, 05/12/2025; business-centre and home pages, 05/12/2025 |
| SNC and SCS | The same three options as the SARL; the gérant's home at start-up, and for an SCS the home of a general partner who is a natural person; Campus, Campus +, Bureau exclusif | As above ¹; the home option one year, renewable once | SARL, SURL and SCS pages (SURL and SCS archived 2026-09-06); home page, 05/12/2025 |
| SAM | Commercial premises in principle; the private offices ("bureaux « privatifs »") of a domiciliation business; Bureau exclusif of at least 25 sqm, rising with headcount; Campus expressly excludes the SAM. | Regulated activities, whatever the form | Outside every business-centre formula; the seat rests on commercial premises or another accepted occupancy title | Not applicable | Business-centre page, 05/12/2025 |
| Company service providers | The Bureau exclusif covers all legal structures "à l'exception de l'exercice de l'activité de Company Services Provider (CSP)"; the page states no other rule for them | Not published | Business-centre page, 05/12/2025 |
| A foreign company | No Monegasque seat of its own: it acts through an authorised agence commerciale, a branch (succursale) or an administrative office (bureau administratif), each needing its own authorisation | Not applicable | Loi n° 1.144, Art. 5, second paragraph |
| Monegasque nationals: State-owned housing, Monaco Boost | Domiciliation in a State-owned dwelling under Loi n° 1.490 of 23 June 2020, for a Monegasque national holding a lease or an habitation-capitalisation contract, with 60% of the capital held by the resident and three activities per dwelling; Monaco Boost for Monegasque entrepreneurs and spouses of Monegasques. Neither is a route for a foreign founder | State-owned housing: indefinite and free of charge for the life of the activity. Monaco Boost: a limited time | Loi n° 1.490, Art. 1; home and seat pages, 05/12/2025 |
Seat options per legal form, from the French government pages of 05/12/2025, with each published duration and both wordings for a domiciliation business.
¹ The one-year wording comes from the form pages; the business-centre page of the same date gives Campus three years and Campus + no limit. Neither names its text.
The nine business-centre formulas, and the cap the official pages do not reconcile
A centre supplies the address, the desk and the services its contract names, and the choice between operators belongs to the business centre guide. Regulated activities sit outside all nine formulas (the business-centre page, 05/12/2025), and start instead with a financial services licence in Monaco.
| Formula | Who may use it | Entities and presence | Duration published | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start Up MC | Sole traders, professions, artisans, commercial agents; Monegasque nationals and spouses of Monegasques receiving the Aide à l'Installation Professionnelle; at creation only | Shared office, 10 entities maximum; no staff, no clients, no storage | 6 months, renewable once (1 year maximum) | Business-centre page, 05/12/2025, read 2026-09-19 |
| Start Up | The same activities, at creation only | 10 entities maximum; no staff, no clients, no storage | For non-Monegasques, 3 months renewable once (6 months maximum) | Same page and date |
| Primo | Sole traders, professions, artisans, commercial agents | Open space with a dedicated desk, 5 entities; at least one fixed day a week, named in the contract | 3 years maximum | Same page and date |
| Primo + | "Extension de la formule Primo"; the eligibility conditions are not published | As Primo | Unlimited | Same page and date |
| Primo R | The same population as Primo; the page publishes no residence criterion | As Primo | Unlimited "sous certaines conditions", the conditions unpublished | Same page and date |
| Hébergement administratif | Artisans, professions and activities carried on at the client's home, in own name only; agreed case by case with the DDE | Open space with a dedicated desk, 5 entities, 5 days a week | 3 years, renewable by three-year periods "sous certaines conditions" | Same page and date |
| Campus | SNC, SARL, SURL and SCS, "à l'exception des SAM" | Open space with a dedicated desk, one entity, 5 days a week; no staff, no clients, no storage | 3 years maximum, non-renewable, from the gazette notice of the company's constitution | Same page and date |
| Campus + | "Extension de la formule Campus", the same legal forms; the eligibility conditions are not published | As Campus | Unlimited | Same page and date |
| Bureau exclusif | All legal structures except the activity of Company Services Provider; at creation and during the company's life | A private office of at least 9 sqm, and at least 25 sqm for a SAM, each rising with headcount; staff may be hired | Not published | Same page and date |

One year, or three? Both wordings are official and carry the same date, and neither names its legal text. The empty box is the finding
The SARL, SURL and SCS pages of 05/12/2025 cap a seat with a domiciliation business at one year, renewable once.
The business-centre page of the same date gives Campus three years, non-renewable, and Campus + no limit.
Neither names the text behind its cap. Ordonnance Souveraine n° 993, Art. 8, the only statute found nearby, covers the gérant's home for the SARL, SNC and SCS. We plan on the shorter wording.
How the address enters your authorisation file, and what a move triggers
1. Check the activity may use a formula at all. Regulated activities sit outside all nine; company service providers outside the exclusive office.

and a separate branch marks the grounds of Art. 9, 2°, 3°, 6° and 8°. No cumulative timeline
Art. 9
The address inside the authorisation: occupancy title, the decision naming the premises, the DDE declaration, the technical commission, the RCI. Loi n° 1.144, Arts. 5, 2 and 9
2. Match the option to the legal form and the work. Only the exclusive office allows staff; the shared formulas carry no staff, no clients, no storage.
3. Secure the occupancy title. The provider is an obliged entity: identity, source of funds and beneficial owners are examined before it signs.
4. Put the premises into the file. Art. 5 of Loi n° 1.144 has the decision determine limitatively the activities and the premises, so the address precedes it.
5. Declare the address at the DDE with the occupancy title. Domiciliation is the first post-authorisation formality; a foreign national declares from notification.
6. The technical commission visits commercial and office premises (O.S. n° 2.214, A.M. n° 2009-412), and the lease is registered with the Direction des Services Fiscaux.
7. The RCI entry. The address is a registered particular, so changing it later carries a deadline.
8. The clock starts, and a move costs a fresh decision. A change of premises needs a new authorisation, or a new declaration for a Monegasque, and amends the statutes: gazette notice, Greffe Général, RCI within one month.
No State fee and no period is published for either step, the transfer teleservice included, so no date is promised.

What the Monaco Business Office accepts as proof of occupation
The private-premises procedure page, updated 08/09/2026, lists what counts as a titre d'occupation (the government's page).
- The lease registered with the Direction des Services Fiscaux: commercial, office, mixed or residential.
- The deed of transfer of a fonds de commerce.
- A copy of the convention d'occupation domaniale.
- A notary's certificate of ownership.
- The contract concluded with a business centre.
- The owner's written authorisation.
- Hosted in another company's premises: the owner's consent, and the principal tenant's.
- That second consent is a registered sublease, or an attestation de mise à disposition gracieuse.
- Three tenures for commercial premises: a commercial lease, a short lease under 36 months, a convention d'occupation précaire for State public-domain premises. A fourth, the statutory office lease of Loi n° 1.433, is accepted; rents and duty belong to finding premises that satisfy a Monegasque business authorisation.
- What the file establishes is the right to occupy, not a fixed line item.

Problems we solve
Five places where this goes wrong, and the article that settles each.
A mail-only address is not a seat. Under Art. 9, 8° of Loi n° 1.144, having no installation or staff allowing a real activity in Monaco is a revocation ground, and Art. 14 reaches the host.
An address is not inherited with the shares. The decision names the premises and the holder; changing either takes a new authorisation, which the buyer plans for in Company in Monaco: Ready-Made and Existing Companies in Monaco.
No nominee, and no lent name. Lending a name to obtain an authorisation is an offence for both sides, punished by a fine of EUR 18,000 to 90,000: Company in Monaco: Nominee Directors in Monaco.
The centre vets you because it has to. Domiciliation has a statutory definition in Loi n° 1.362, Art. 1er, 29°, and its operator is an obliged entity supervised by the AMSF. Listing pressure: the grey list guide.
Losing the premises costs the authorisation. Art. 9 lists no suitable premises (2°), six months without trading without legitimate reason (3°), hosting undeclared activities (6°). Substance also counts when opening a bank account in Monaco.

Ready to settle the address before the file goes in?
Send the activity, the legal form and the premises in view, and we will map the options and the proof each needs.
What a registered office costs, and what the State does not publish
No State fee and no processing time is published for the domiciliation step or for a change of premises, and our own fee is on request. A registered office does not by itself settle the company's tax position: the profits tax bites where at least 25% of turnover is realised outside Monaco, the subject of income tax in Monaco. Nor does an address give the founder a residence.

Why work with us
Camille Perrin, formation and authorisation lead, eleven years on Monegasque business files, eight of them inside a Monegasque domiciliation and business-centre operator.
From our practice: matching the seat option to the legal form before the file is written, assembling the occupancy title, taking the premises part of the dossier through the DDE, and running it again on a move.

Tell us the activity, the legal form and the premises in view, and we will come back with the options and their caps.
Start your Monaco file
Tell us the activity, where it will be carried on and who will run it. One of us reads it and comes back with the questions the authorisation file will ask. Our fees are on request.
The authorisation is personal and non-transferable, and it names the activity and the premises. Nothing on this site is sold ready to trade.
